+ Can you work alongside our fit out company to create our green office?

Yes, we work with fit out companies and interior designers to fulfil interior and exterior planting schemes. Often we find that people are keen to have plants and include them in their office plans without knowing who to source the planting from. We’re here to fill the gap; with over 40 years of experience in delivering planting projects, we can offer our expertise as to the best planting options to use, and can see your scheme through right from design to installation to ongoing maintenance.

+ How do I know what plants would be best suited to my space?

Every office is different in terms of layout, light levels and temperature, so it is recommended that you speak to an interior planting expert who can visit your space and advise you on the best plants to use.

+ Will you do a no obligation site visit?

All of our site surveys are free of charge and there is no obligation to proceed with any proposals we put together. Our team are always here to help – give us a call if you would like one of our consultants to visit your offices.

+ Is there a catalogue or pricelist I can choose from?

We don’t have a catalogue of plants: each project we work on is so different, every customer’s office is unique, and not all plants work in all workplace environments. This is why we work with each customer on a one-to-one basis to get an understanding of your needs and the planting that is best suited to your office space. If you need some inspiration for interior planting, have a look at our projects here.

+ We’re planning an office refurb or move – when should we start thinking about plants?

As soon as possible! Integrating biophilic elements into your office design from the start of the process is the best way to ensure you will have a stunning interior planting scheme that perfectly complements your interior fit out.

+ What is the lead time for getting plants installed?

Lead times are approximately 2 weeks from order to install, although this can vary depending on the planters and plants ordered.

+ What area do you cover?

We’re based in Bristol and our main area is the South West, however we do have the ability to deliver our services throughout the whole of the UK. We offer a nationwide service if you have a number of offices through the UK and would like them to be covered by one planting contractor.

+ Should I go for live or artificial plants?

We would normally recommend live planting because of the many benefits that real interior plants bring. In some circumstances artificial planting can be the better option – for example, if light levels are very low or if access for maintenance isn’t feasible.

+ If I rent the plants is there a contract?

Yes there will be a rental contract set up for the plant displays, our standard contract lengths are 12, 24 or 36 months long. The length can be bespoke, for example we could adjust the contract term to suit your building lease end date.

+ What colour can we have our planters?

Click here to request our standard colours document. We are also able to finish your planters in any RAL or Pantone colour if you have a specific shade you would like to match, such as your corporate brand colours. Our consultants can help and guide you on what could look best.

+ Will we need to water the plants ourselves and look after them?

No, we have a team of trained maintenance technicians who take 100% responsibility of caring for your plant displays if you take up a maintenance package. One of our maintenance technicians will be assigned to you and they will visit your site every 2-3 weeks to service your plant displays. The maintenance includes all the watering, cleaning, feeding and trimming of the plants as well as any fly or pest control if needed, so you can enjoy your plants without needing to do any of the work.

+ How often do you visit to maintain our plants?

Most of our clients would have maintenance visits every 3 weeks however this does sometimes vary depending on the plant displays, for example some outdoor plant displays would require additional visits during the summer months.

+ What happens if a plant dies?

Because plants are living objects, each one is different and occasionally a plant will struggle or fail. If you have a maintenance contract in place we will replace a failing plant at no additional cost to you; replacement plants are included in the standard maintenance package.

+ Has it been proven that plants improve air quality in offices?

Yes, there is a lot of research that proves the benefits of planting. A study carried out by NASA found that interior plants not only remove carbon dioxide, they also reduce the level of dangerous VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) in the air – click here to find out more. As well as the technical studies that have been carried out we also have many customers that will testify to the positive benefits of interior office planting.

+ What are the best plants to improve air quality?

Below are some of the interior plants that have been proven to be great at improving air quality. (That said, pretty much any species of plant will go some way to removing CO2 and producing oxygen, even if it is not included in this list. It’s also important to make sure that the plants you put into your office will survive and thrive in your space.)

The top 7 air-purifying plants:

  • Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
  • Philodendron
  • Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
  • Rubber plants (Ficus elastica)
  • Boston Fern
  • Areca palms
  • Dracaena “Janet Craig”

+ What is biophilia?

Biophilia literally means “love of life”. It’s a term popularised by Edward O. Wilson, used to refer to the affinity human beings have for other forms of life and the innate tendency we have to seek connections with nature. This is where interior plants come in – they provide a way for us to connect with the natural world even when we’re inside the four walls of an office.

+ I already have my own plants, can I take up a maintenance package?

Yes, we are more than happy to take a look at any existing plant displays you have and take on the ongoing maintenance of these.

+ Do you offer a grounds maintenance service?

Yes we do – our grounds maintenance division is called LandscapeCare. Our ground maintenance team offers regular exterior maintenance, pest control, tree surgery and other services such as pressure-washing, line painting and replanting. You can find out more about LandscapeCare’s services here.

+ Do you supply large interior trees?

Yes, we have a lot of experience in supplying, installing and maintaining interior trees (click here to watch our team installing 4m high Ficus Fibrosa trees at UKHO). If you’re looking for a large tree for a project our experts are available to give you advice on the best type of tree to use, planter options and install details.
